- Queer: I’m a gay guy living with John Schwartzkopf, my partner of twenty years, in Cedar Rapids, IA
- Mystical: I’ve been meditating in the Soto Zen tradition since 1984. I’ve been studying philosophy, particularly Kant, Heidegger, and Sartre and the Neoplatonics. I have an abiding interest in the Western Mystery Traditions, particularly studies in alchemy and the Hermetic Tradition.
- Geek: I started out in biochemistry. When I discovered I hated that three years into my graduate work, I bailed. I’ve been writing software professionally since 1980. These days I mostly do mobile development (iOS and Android), but I’ve done lots of desktop development (both Win and OS X) and web.
